For whom: natural persons not registered as unemployed, planning to start business activity (regardless of sex, age, professional experience), excluding persons who owned an enterprise and ran business activity after 1 January 2004

Effects: granting training and counselling support to 40 project participants (transfer of knowledge about running enterprises, building enterprise strategies, preparing a business plan), one-time investment subsidies of maximum PLN 20,000 for 30 persons

For what: surveys, training, counselling, preparing an English course book, online handbook

How much: over EUR 90,000
Realisation period: October 2006 – September 2008
Effects: A survey on knowledge of foreign languages and contacts requiring the use of foreign languages was conducted among Malopolska enterprises. A RoadMap was made available online; a guide on training in terms of contacting foreign enterprises available for entrepreneurs was published. A language training for a selected group from the SME sector, preparation and publication of language learning materials; a Business English course book.

Methods of entrepreneurship development in the region REG-SME
For whom: MARR and Malopolska Voivodeship (Region) Marshal's Office employees directly dealing with the realisation of tasks connected with entrepreneurship development, including implementing aid programmes and programmes connected with training and counselling for SMEs. The project was also addressed to persons participating in devising and implementing the regional development strategy
For what: promoting employee mobility in the European job market and implementing innovative educational solutions in order to increase job qualifications. The project also led to the development of cooperation between science and business through the possibility of directly diagnosing the training needs of entrepreneurs and then adjusting the training offer to them.
Sources of financing: The project was financed from the funds of the Leonardo da Vinci Programme which is a part of the Lifelong Learning Programme.
How much: EUR 59,913.00
Realisation period: 4 March 2008 – 31 December 2008
Effects: 35 persons (32 from MARR and 3 from MVMO) divided into 11 groups took part in the project. Participants visited 11 Partners in 4 countries: Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain. As preparation before the visits, participants took part in English classes and courses in the language of the host country and participated in informational meetings on general conditions and the culture of the hosting countries and the characteristics of the Partner. A publication is one of project realisation effects.
