“Sapere Auso” Scholarships
December 2010
In 2010, 267 pupils and students received scholarships for outstanding scientific, artistic and sports achievements from the “Sapere Auso” Foundation. The distinctions were awarded to the most talented pupils and students from Małopolska.
MARR has been supporting the Foundation’s operations financing scholarships for the talented.
During the Gala for awarding scholarships that took place on the 15th of December at the Wieliczka Salt Mine the President of MARR said: “If we have young talented people, we will have great, skilful and creative employees, which is what we need for Małopolska to develop dynamically.”
Civic Independence Day
November 2010
The Civic Independence Day is organised every year by the Pro Publico Foundation. During its celebrations a special award is presented for civic work and initiatives building the attitudes of civic society.
In 2010 awards were granted to KARTA Centre Foundation, BARKA Foundation for Mutual Help, and Prof. Jerzy Regulski (co-author of the Polish self-government reform).
MARR support civic initiatives and those that build self-governance in the region. In 2010 we sponsored the Civic Independence Day once again.
Małopolska Innovator 2010

In 2010 micro-, small and medium-size companies could apply for the prestigious title of “Małopolska Innovator 2010” for the fifth time. The competition is to support regional enterprises that create and implement innovative solutions.
Mono-block trestle, two-gas garage detector and anti-flood threshold – these ideas guaranteed the awards of the fifth edition of competition to three Kraków companies, that is Inotec, Przedsiębiorstwo Wdrożeniowe PRO-SERVICE (PRO-SERVICE Implementation Company) and Kolejowe Zakłady Nawierzchniowe “Bieżanów” (“Bieżanów” Railway Surface Company).
This year the Małopolska Regional Development Agency joined the “Małopolska Innovator” initiative for the first time. As the patron of the fifth edition of competition we wish to promote innovative companies in the region.
Entrepreneurship Gala of the Limanowa District

In 2010 the sixth edition of the Entrepreneurship Gala of the Limanowa District. The event was organised by the authorities of the Limanowa district and the Entrepreneurship Council of the Limanowa District. During the Gala awards were presented in three categories: “Business Leader,” “Economic Initiative,” and “Patron of Entrepreneurship.” Distinctions were also presented at the “Young Entrepreneur” competition in the Limanowa district.
MARR was a strategic sponsor of the Entrepreneurship Gala.
Competition: My idea for Małopolska

In 2010 we organised the “My idea for Małopolska” competition together with the Małopolska Voivodeship.
The competition was organised for young entrepreneurial inhabitants of Małopolska who want to participate in the creation of the “Małopolska 2020” vision. The awards for the best proposals of modernising the region were presented to territorial self-government units, non-governmental organisations, students and pupils.
The competition distinguished the following ideas: “Bicycyle Małopolska” in the territorial self-government unit category; “Little retention” in the NGO category; “Our miracles of the world,” “TGV Kraków-Zakopane” and “Cracoviana” in the pupils category; and “Bicycle parking slots,” “Disabled – empathy” and “Internet for everyone” in the students category.
International Piano Festival of the Royal City of Kraków

In 2010, from the 24th to the 31st of October in Kraków, the International Piano Festival of the Royal City of Kraków took place as part of the Chopin Year.
The event is organised by the PianoClassic Association. During the festival renowned pianists performed at the Cracow Philharmonics and the Academy of Music in Kraków.
Once again the Małopolska Regional Development Agency was the sponsor of the piano festival in Kraków.
20th Economic Forum in Krynica
September 2010
From the 8th to the 11th of September 2010 economists, politicians, scientists and journalists met for the twentieth time at the Economic Forum in Krynica.
For the second time the Małopolska Regional Development Agency actively joined in the preparation of this prestigious event as the Forum’s official partner and the patron of discussion opening its session.
“Skrzydła Biznesu” (“Wings of Business”) Gala
September 2010
The event was organised by Dziennik Gazeta Prawna in six Polish cities, Sopot, Poznań, Wrocław, Kraków, Kazimierz Dolny and Katowice.
During the events awards were presented to companies who won the “Wings of Business” ranking. The announcement of the competition results was accompanied by seminars for entrepreneurs.
In 2010 MARR covered the Kraków “Wings of Business” Gala with honorary patronage.
Dancing Europe
August 2010
On the 25th of August 2010 the representatives of twin cities from Germany, Hungary and Poland met in the Dąbrowa Community Centre to take part in the “Dancing Europe” event. It was attended by youth folk and contemporary dance bands, which gave over 200 participants altogether.
Being a part of the Dąbrowa District Self-government Association project, the event is to promote the culture of the European Union member states.
The Małopolska Regional Development Agency was a sponsor of this event.
Bread Day
June 2010
In 2010 MARR sponsored the Bread Day organised by the Małopolska Chamber of Regional, Traditional and Ecological Products.
The goal of the event is the promotion of Małopolska cultural and culinary heritage. As every year the Bread Day gathered many Kraków inhabitants and tourists, including master bakers, confectioners and producers of the Małopolska Traditional Products.
AIESEC Conference
April 2010
Take Multi Chances – Foreign Investments Conference 2010 took place on the 14th of April at the Kraków University of Economics. The organisers invited entrepreneurs, as well as students and graduates of national and foreign universities to participate in the event. They discussed opportunities and threats related to running company and investments. The conference was organised by the AIESEC International Student Organisation.
The Małopolska Regional Development Agency covered the AIESEC conference with its patronage. MARR’s experts delivered special training session for students and participated in the “Passport for export” panel.
BOSS Entrepreneurship Festival
April 2010
In 2010 there took place the seventh edition of the BOSS (Bardzo Odpowiedzialny Start w Samodzielność: Very Responsible Start for Independence) Entrepreneurship Festival, all-Poland project of the Student Business Centre Club Forum.
The project was to show to the participants whether they are ready to start their company or they should wait with this decision.
In 2010 the Małopolska Regional Development Agency sponsored the BOSS Festival. In this way we wanted to support entrepreneurial attitude and promote regional economy.
Gala presenting the Józef Dietl Awards

The Józef Dietl Award is presented every year to people who distinguish themselves in their work for the local community, territorial self-government and regional development. The award is funded by the Józef Dietl Self-Government Corporation.
In 2010 the Józef Dietl Award was granted to Ms. Anna Dymna, President of the “Against the Odds” Foundation.
The Małopolska Regional Development Agency has sponsored the Gala at which the Award is presented from the very beginning, that is from 2007. In this way we join in the campaign for the promotion of civic attitude in our voivodeship.
State in Micro and Macro-scale Conference
February 2010
In 2010 MARR was patron of the sixth conference in the State in Micro and Macro-scale series organised by the Computerworld magazine.
The conference was held in Tarnów on the 25th and 26th of February 2010. The representatives of the public sector, entrepreneurs and scientists discussed, among other things, investments in innovativeness and new technologies. One of the panel discussions on the cooperation between science, business and administration was attended by Krzysztof Krzysztofiak, President of MARR.
EU Gateway Programme

In 2010 the second series of edition of the EU Gateway to Japan and Korea Programme started to be organised under the patronage of the European Commission.
The goal of the Programme is to support European Union entrepreneurs in the promotion of their products and technologies on the Japanese and South Korean markets through the organisation of trade business missions to these countries.
MARR is a partner of the EU Gateway to Japan and Korea Programme.
